Drone Router Conditional Approvals
The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) updates the FCC Covered List to exclude devices covered by Department of War (DoW) Conditional Approvals, including Innovation First International’s VEX AIR uncrewed aircraft system and Sagemcom USA’s specified routers.
What it does PSHSB finds that each Conditional Approval is a “specific determination” that the identified equipment does not pose unacceptable risks to U.S. national security or the safety and security of U.S. persons. It therefore updates the Covered List and publishes revised Covered List and Conditional Approvals appendices. The notice explains that foreign-produced UAS, UAS critical components, and routers generally remain covered unless an applicable exception or Conditional Approval applies.
